The book cellar, based in buenos aires, was founded as a virtual used bookshop in 2008 with the intention of providing locals and foreigners alike with literature in its original language. The aim was, and still is, to specialise in english literature, but due to demand and the acquisition of good-priced material in other languages and genres we have grown into a place where you can find a broad and comprehensive selection of books you have been trying to locate for some time.
Our stock now stands at 5,000 books in 10 different languages including rarities, out-of-prints, antiques, 1st editions, scholarly books, contemporary and classic literature, art, music and more...
Our books are sourced with enthusiasm and vigour hoping to replicate that joy we feel when making interesting purchases in the customer when he then finds the book with us.
We combine the ideas of a virtual and a personal bookshop by cataloguing what we can of our ever growing stock online. The client can then browse our inventory before contacting us to pick the book up in person.
